Obituary for June Elizabeth Wolf

June Elizabeth Wolf
Of Prospect Heights

June Elizabeth Wolf was born June 9, 1938 in Chicago to John and Alva (nee Johnson) Mundson.  After struggling with interstitial fibrosis which progressively impaired her lungs over the past 10 years, she died August 29, 2019 at her home where she lived for the past 50 years in Prospect Heights.

A graduate of Austin High School and Northern Illinois University, June enjoyed education and was trained as a teacher.  While raising her three daughters, she served as a small group leader in Camp Fire Girls and over 30 years as a CCD religious education teacher at St. Alphonsus.  Always supporting her husband, Dick, she was also a familiar face to many because of the prominent roles he held in local government.  She was active in the Prospect Heights Garden Club, and served as its historian for many years.  Having grown up living in a Chicago apartment, she appreciated the opportunity her home and community provided to get close to nature.  June enjoyed participating in local bible study and library reading groups.  Dick’s international job provided the opportunity for them to travel the world.

She is survived by her children Karen (Jonathan) Kaspar, Valerie (Susan) Sinitean-Wolf and Jennifer (Colin) Noronha; grandchildren, Justin, Briana, Ian, Jonathan Jr., Faith and Joshua, foreign-exchange daughter Gisele Bellido, and by many treasured nieces, nephews and cousins.

June is preceded in death by her husband Richard E. Wolf and by her parents.
