General Price List

 

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires funeral homes to provide a written General Price List (GPL), to those inquiring about funeral services or costs. The purpose of the GPL is to make it easier for consumers to compare services and prices among funeral homes and to make you aware you are only required to pay for the goods and services that apply to the remembrance you plan. The GPL is required to have specific wording and disclosures. For more information on your rights under the funeral rule, see: www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0300-ftc-funeral-rule. While able to obtain a GPL from the funeral home, most consumers are not experienced enough to put together a combination of goods and services to give an accurate representation of the total cost. Selecting a Funeral Provider

The decision to place the care of your loved one with a funeral home is an important one and usually goes beyond selecting the lowest price. Some of the things you should consider when choosing a funeral home:

  • Recommendation of a trusted friend or relative
  • Recommendation of a trusted clergy person
  • Comfort level with Funeral Home Personnel
  • Does the Funeral Home have a reputation for being honest and trustworthy
  • Does the quality and maintenance of the facility meet my standards
  • Is the facility large/quaint enough to satisfy my needs
  • Can the funeral home staff personalize services to properly honor my loved one
  • Are price and service decisions answered in an easy to understand manner
  • Can the funeral home show me merchandise I am purchasing or are my options partial models and photos
  • Is the quote inclusive and understandable so I know the total cost
  • Is the funeral home locally owned and operated or a branch location of a large corporation

While we tailor every remembrance to meet every family’s unique needs, there are typical combinations of goods and services. To make selection easier and benefit those families who take advantage of the services, facilities and merchandise Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. has to offer, we have a number of discounted packages available to make the decision process more understandable and easier to compare.

The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected.

 

BASIC SERVICES OF FUNERAL DIRECTOR AND STAFF

Includes, but is not limited to, services of director and staff to respond to the initial request for service, conference with a funeral director to determine services required, coordination of the plans involved in the final disposition of the deceased, recording vital statistics, securing permits and authorizations, shelter of remains for up to two days, filing and obtaining death certificates and preparation of other forms and claims. This also includes a charge used to meet overhead expenses such as licensing, legal and accounting fees, OSHA and environmental compliance, insurance, building and utility expenses, grounds maintenance, taxes, equipment, record keeping and other costs and expenses. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving of remains.)

 

EMBALMING (Including use of preparation room)

Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial. It is the policy of our funeral home to require embalming when public viewing is requested.

Use of Facilities and Staff

Our facility is customarily available for visitations, services, ceremonies, and remembrances which conclude by 8:00 pm Sunday-Friday and 5:00 pm on Saturday. Total hours include private family time. Additional hours can be planned, as available, per schedule below. Lounge areas close at 7:30 pm Sunday-Friday and 4:30 pm on Saturday. A/V equipment only available for use during scheduled hours.
 

VISITATION AT GLUECKERT FUNERAL HOME

Our services include set-up and use of visitation room, placement of casketed remains, display of floral arrangements, supervision by staff during the visitation, and use of public areas including lounge.

FUNERAL SERVICE AT GLUECKERT FUNERAL HOME

Our services include coordinating the funeral arrangements, supervision of funeral, staff to attend the funeral ceremony, set-up and use of facilities for a funeral ceremony.

MEMORIAL SERVICE AT GLUECKERT FUNERAL HOME**

Our services include coordinating the memorial service arrangements, supervision of memorial service, staff, set-up, and use three hours or less use of facilities for memorial service.


**Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. only offers use of facilities for a memorial service to those who have arranged cremation through Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., or where death occurs outside of a 60-mile radius of Arlington Heights, Illinois. A professional service fee of $900 additional due when cremation is not arranged by Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd.

We offer a selection of caskets in the above range. A complete price list will be provided at the funeral home. The funeral home makes no representations or warranties about the protective features of caskets. The only warranties, expressed or implied, granted in connection with the goods sold with the funeral service are the expressed written warranties, if any, extended by the manufacturers thereof. No other warranties and no warranties of merchandising fitness or a particular purpose are extended by the funeral home.

 

 

OUTER BURIAL CONTAINERS (Range of Prices)

We offer a selection of outer burial containers in the above range. A complete price list will be provided at the funeral home. The funeral home makes no representations or warranties about the protective features of outer burial containers. The only warranties, expressed or implied, granted in connection with the goods sold with the funeral service are the expressed written warranties, if any, extended by the manufacturers thereof. No other warranties and no warranties of merchandising fitness or a particular purpose are extended by the funeral home.

 

 

DIRECT CREMATION (Range of Prices)

This charge includes basic services of funeral director and staff, holding of remains in the preparation room, local transportation of the remains to the funeral home and Crematory. This package does not include cremation fee, county permits (where required) sales tax or cash advances. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are corrugated with a partial wooden base or all corrugated.

FORWARDING OF REMAINS TO ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME

This charge includes basic services of funeral director and staff to arrange shipping of remains to another funeral home, embalming, transportation of remains to the funeral home and to O'Hare airport. This package does not include shipping container, shipping charges, sales tax or other cash advances. A combination transportation container ($250.00), air shipping ($200.00), or other type container may be required for shipping by airlines. This package does not apply when visitation or funeral services are arranged.
