Of Arlington Heights

Romano R. Valentini ,81, was born in Villa Scontrone, Italy to Mario Valentini and Concordia Di Domenico. He died Saturday, May 19, 2018 in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Valentini was a member of Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church in Arlington Heights. Romano was an avid gardener and Chicago Blackhawks fan. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and was loved by all.

Romano is survived by his spouse of 54 years, Edda (nee DiLegge); children, Lisa (Erik) Ruud and Mario (Gail) Valentini; grandchildren, Erika Ruud, Marissa Valentini, Adam Valentini, Evan Ruud and Julia Valentini; sister-In-law; Sharon Valentini; brothers-in-law Rino Procino, Giuseppe (Maria) DiLegge and Concezio (Assunta) DiLegge; and many nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Giovanni Valentini and Nilde Valentini.

Visitation Monday, May 21, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Visitation 8:30 am, Tuesday, May 22, 2018 until the 9:30 am Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 South Mitchell, Arlington Heights, IL 60005. Entombment will be held privately.
