Melva N. Naami was born on February 2, 1932 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to Cal and Laura (nee Barnett) Robbins. She passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018.

Melva worked as campus security for District 214, John Hersey High School and Forest View Alternative School. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, classic cars, and traveling.

Melva is survived by her Husband, Sami Naami; Sons, Timmy Naami, Richard (Maricela Fernandez) Naami, and Jeffrey Naami; brother, Cardinal (the late June) Robbins, sisters, Dorsie (the late John) Good, and Berta (the late Michael) Olear; niece, Phyllis (Sam) Quinn as well as many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Carl Young; several siblings and her parents.

Visitation from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Rd. (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:00 am, Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Colette Catholic Church, 3900 Meadow Dr., Rolling Meadows, for Mass at 10:00 am. Interment at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.
