James “Jim” F. Koppe
40 year resident of Buffalo Grove
James F. Koppe was born on August 21, 1952 in Chicago to Paul and Lorene (nee Samelson) Koppe. He died Thursday, November 2, 2017 in Arlington Heights.
Jim will be most remembered for his love, strength, fierce loyalty and deep commitment to his family. He always showed kindness to everyone he met, with a calm presence and sense of humor. Jim had a successful 45-year career as an engineer, but considered his greatest accomplishment to be his family. He enjoyed life and time with family & friends, especially his children & grandchildren.
Jim’s spirit lives on in the values he instilled in his beloved family and everyone he touched by his love. He is survived by his treasured spouse of 39 years, Patricia (nee Danna); children, Joseph (Linda) Koppe, Sean (Tara) Koppe and Brian (Jennifer) Koppe; grandchildren, Sarah Lauren, Hannah Nicole, Madelyn Catherine, Andrew Edward, Jeffrey James and Kyra Alexandra Koppe.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Prayers 9:15 am, Monday, November 6, 2017 at the funeral home proceeding to St. Mary Parish, 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089 for a 10:00 am Funeral Mass. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
