Helen Marie Bailitz
Of Arlington Heights 

Helen Marie Bailitz was born on April 20, 1943 in Evergreen Park, Illinois to Joseph and Helen (nee Brady) Meegan. She died Monday, April 23, 2018 at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois. 

Helen taught special needs children in Chicago and the Northern suburbs.  She was a parishioner of St. James Parish in Arlington Heights for over 45 years, and a former president of the St. James School Parents Club and a member of the School Advisory Board. She also contributed through her love of music as a long-standing member of the St. James Church Choir.  Helen exemplified grace, dignity and courage.  Despite her academic achievements and talents in the arts, she professed her greatest blessings to be her husband, children and grandchildren.   

Helen is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ronald Bailitz; her children, Anne (Gregory) Watson, Joseph (Aileen) Bailitz, Ronald (Susan) Bailitz, Dr. John (Kristin) Bailitz, Owen (Christina) Bailitz, and Helen Bailitz; her grandchildren, Brendan, Elizabeth, and Owen Watson, Ciara, Joseph, Ronald, Sarah, Nina, Abigail, Meegan, Brady, Kathryn, Luke, Ella, Carter, and Noah Bailitz; her siblings Michael Meegan, David (Genevieve) Meegan, Judith Meegan, Madonna (George) Cook, Patricia Wiet, and Martha Meegan and her many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Helen Meegan; and her brothers, Joseph and James Meegan. 

Visitation is from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois and from 9:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 am, Monday, April 30, 2018 at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, Illinois.
