Glenn Stangland was born on November 17, 1947 in Chicago to Kenneth and Jean (nee McGrath) Stangland. He died Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at his home in Wheeling, the morning after enjoying a 42nd anniversary dinner with his wife, Bonnie, at their favorite restaurant..

A renowned Man of Science and a beloved paterfamilias, Glenn enjoyed traveling to Walt Disney World with his family, cheering on his beloved White Sox, watching movies of every kind (especially the bad ones), and dominating his opponents in "Halo".

A graduate of the pharmacy school at University of Illinois at Chicago, Glenn owned and operated independent neighborhood pharmacies for three decades and finished his career at Osco Drug in Mundelein.

Glenn is survived by his wife Bonnie Stangland (nee Burck), his children Holly Stangland, Lisa Stangland and Sean (Lisa Draski) Stangland: his brother James (Julie) Stangland; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

An open-house celebration will be held Sunday, Aug. 26, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment will be private.
